As you can probably imagine, this surgery comes with a lot of expenses.  The surgery itself cost over a million dollars.  The hospital stay, additional procedures, medications, and follow-up care is in addition to the cost of the surgery.

For example... the hotel is $125 per night at the long term hospital rate and one night in the Critical Care Unit was $1312, just for the room. Not to mention the cost of my eight oral medications, including three immunosuppressants. You can see that costs like this quickly add up!
